The saga begins when a terrible accident by a sudden twist of fate dashes the dreams of an aspiring cricketer who wishes to play for her country. An alcoholic coach comes into her life and together they embark of a journey that will change their destinies.
The movie is inspired by the story of real-life Hungarian shooter Karoly Takacs. Anina Dixit, the protagonist, loses her right arm just before she was named to play against India. Paddy aka Padam Singh Sodhi played by Abhishek, is a cricketer who never got a chance to prove his mirth due to a rib fracture during a match in 1995. Abhishek has delivered an outstanding performance. His expression, dialogues, his gait, everything leaves the audience in awe of him. I loved him in ‘Daasvi’ and now again, I am moved by his performance.
Amitabh Bachchan and Shabana Azmi have added to the film and added their glorious touch to the plot. The title track is beautiful. A movie that touches on gender equality, value of education and touches on the each and every person’s inner-strength and ambition.
Saiyami Kher has also done a great job along with Angad Bedi. A never give up attitude sees you till the end of the road, no matter how many stumbling blocks come our way.
