When it comes to k-pop bands, the idols go through a tough time maintaining a clear image. K-pop idols not only have to go through immensely hard training, but also steer clear of controversies. The audience of Korean Entertainment is known to be banned immediately if the public finds out about some controversy.
The latest fall was taken by (G)I-DLE’s Soojin. She was accused of various school bullying controversies. The controversies claimed that she was a bully and led to mental harm to peers. She denied all the claims and said that she did not remember any incidents that the controversies revolved around. However, it seems like she will have to withdraw nevertheless.
Her agency gave a statement, “Hello. This is Cube Entertainment. Firstly, we bow our heads in apology for concerning you with the matter of our company artist, Seo Soojin’s controversy. We would like to inform you that it was decided that Seo Soojin will withdraw from the group effective today. In the future, (G)I-DLE will proceed to promote as a 5 member group and the company will do our best and unchangingly support the group so they are able to show a more mature sound and performance. Thank you.”
