Salman Khan has been credited by Bobby Deol for his return in Bollywood. Bobby, who turns 53 on Thursday, has already spoken about his first meeting with Salman. Bobby and Salman were contemporaries in Bollywood; although Salman went on to become a superstar, Bobby rose to prominence in the 1990s with films like Soldier and Barsaat.
Bobby Deol made a comeback after a few years with Race 3, which also starred Salman Khan. In interviews, he praised Salman for providing him with employment.
Bobby recounted his first encounter with Salman to Bollywood Hungama that year, saying it happened during a stunt practice: “Ek film aayi jisme main bike stunts kar raha tha.” Aur if I’m performing bike stunts, then Salman’s main pehli baar mila tha (If I’m doing bike stunts, then Salman’s main pehli baar mila tha). When I was executing the stunts, I met Salman for the first time). On the beach, I was practicing bike tricks. I’ve known him since then.”
“Uski pehli film lagi huyi thi,” Bobby said (His first film was running in theatres). And he was very laid-back about it. He was unconcerned about becoming a huge celebrity (ki main bada star ban jayunga). He appeared to be at ease. As a result, we got along after that.” Salman made his Bollywood debut with Maine Pyar Kiya in 1989, for which he received the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. Bobby’s debut picture, Barsaat, was released in 1995 after various delays.
Bobby experienced a physical makeover ahead of the premiere of Race 3, for which he congratulated Salman in a tweet, writing: “When the hard work starts to show!” Thank you for the inspiration, Salman.”
“I met Salman a year ago, and he told me everyone has low and high moments,” Bobby stated ahead of Race 3’s debut. He said that while he was having a rough period, he got onto the backs of my brother and Sanjay Dutt. ‘Let me jump on to your back for support,’ I said at that point. He recalled it, and because he genuinely cares about my well-being, he provided me this part over the phone. I was ecstatic, and I’m willing to put in the necessary effort.”
