Hyderabad is the only Indian city to be included and recognized in the 2020 Tree city list.
Arbor Day Foundation that works with FAO of UN has given this recognition to the Pearl city.
For the city’s commitment towards preserving, maintaining and growing urban forest, Hyderabad has been bestowed with this honor.
Congratulating Hyderabad, the President of Arbor Day Foundation, Dan Lambe mentioned that the city's commitment to effective urban forest management is helping to ensure a better future for its residents.
He also added that to celebrate this distinction, they will recognize Hyd in a global press release on March 1st, 2021.
It is indeed a great feat achieved by Hyderabad. And every city in India should follow suit.
In the post shared by KTR, the number of trees planted in the city is huge.

KT Rama Rao also wrote that this recognition is an acknowledgement of the government’s (state) effort to improve green cover under the Haritha Haaram program.
