The famous actor-director combo Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph are reuniting for the much-anticipated film 12th Man. The film’s filming, which is described as a mystery thriller, was just completed in Idukki. Sources close to the Mohanlal starrer have now given a significant change on the film’s release date.
As previously reported, 12th Man was produced as a direct-to-OTT film that would be distributed on Amazon Prime Video. According to the latest rumours, the creators are planning a Christmas release for Mohanlal’s film. If rumours are to be believed, the release date for the Jeethu Joseph directed film will be announced very soon.
In that scenario, 12th Man will be Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph’s second collaboration with Amazon Prime Video, following the enormous success of their first collaboration, Drishyam 2. With this mystery thriller, the producers hope to replicate the enchantment of Drishyam 2 on the OTT realm.
During the launch of 12th Man, director Jeethu Joseph gave an interview to a prominent online media outlet in which he disclosed some interesting secrets about the film. The film stars Mohanlal and centres on a group of 11 friends who are joined by a 12th member. In a 24-hour period, the film portrays the unexpected occurrences that occur during the get-togethers.
In addition to Mohanlal, the film stars Unni Mukundan, Anusree, Sshivada, Anu Sithara, Saiju Kurup, Aditi Ravi, Leona Lishoy, Priyanka Nair, Anu Mohan, Rahul Madhav, and Chandhu Nadh in key parts. The DOP is Satheesh Kurup. The songs and original score were written by Anil Johnson. 12th Man is produced by Antony Perumbavoor and distributed by Aashirvad Cinemas.
