Jackie” Shroff is an Indian actor. He has been in the Hindi cinema industry for four decades and as of 2020, he has appeared in over 220 films in 13 languages. He has won four Filmfare Awards among other accolades. He has also appeared in several successful short films.

Trade is abuzz with reports that good friends Jackie Shroff and Madhur Bhandarkar will be coming together for a film. ETimes reached out to Jackie, who confirmed the development, saying, “I am doing a project with Madhur Bhandarkar, which is probably for an OTT platform.”

Jackie and Madhur last collaborated for ‘Aan’ (2004), which was a cop film. Madhur had also worked with Jackie as an assistant director on Ramgopal Varma’s ‘Rangeela’ in 1995. The actor, at present, is spending time at Lonavala and is busy with organic farming. He will soon return to Mumbai for his work assignments. Rattling off his upcoming assignments, he added, “I also have another film project produced by Hardik Gujjar and I will also be shooting for a reality show as a guest”.

Ask him how will be working with Madhur again and Jackie gushed, “I have known him from my film ‘Dhoodh Ka Karz’. He has been my co-actor, assistant director, and now my director. From the way he briefed me for every shot back when he was an assistant, I knew he would turn out to be a very fine filmmaker. Today, he is a National Award-winning director and is going to direct me after more than a decade”.

Jackie has Rohit Shetty’s ‘Sooryavanshi’‘Phone Bhoot’ with Katrina Kaif, and ‘Athithi Bhooto Bhava’ that co-stars Pratik Gandhi in the offing. In an earlier interview with ETimes, Jackie had opened up about how, for him, it is not the length of the role that matters, but rather what he is doing. “It’s never the length, always the strength. Mission Kashmir’, ‘Yaadein’, ‘Khalnayak’ and many others were short and sweet so that I don’t bore the audience to death on screen. Even I like it that way,” he had said.
