Kangana Ranaut’s lawyer stated she has filed a defamation lawsuit against legendary Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar when she appeared before a magistrate court in the defamation case filed by Javed Akhtar. Ranaut has accused him of extortion and criminal intimidation, among other things, in her lawsuit. She claims that after a public fight with her co-star Hrithik Roshan, Akhtar summoned her sister and her to his Juhu home, intimidated her, and forced her to write an apology.

Meanwhile, Ranaut’s lawyer, Rizwan Siddiquee, has filed a motion with the chief metropolitan magistrate, requesting that the defamation case be transferred from the in-charge court since she has “lost trust” in it. He said they were “uneasy” in front of the court and that it was “prejudiced against her.” On October 1st, the transfer plea will be heard.

“The said accused (Akhtar) even had the arrogance to then compel me to offer a written apology to my said co-star (Roshan), therefore, forcefully attempting to construct a document (valuable security) in favour of my co-star,” Ranaut said in her plea against Akhtar.

Ranaut’s plea further stated that she was threatened with grave repercussions if she engaged in a public brawl with her “most powerful co-star and his family,” and that she would be making her life miserable by going to jail and then killing herself. She also claimed that some remarks slandered her moral reputation. The plea stated, “The accused has so intentionally caused me tremendous mental agony and suffering, which continues to have a troubling effect on my psyche through his acts of crimes.”

She said that instead of apologizing, a defamation suit was brought against her. Ranaut’s plea was, “I declare that my family has finally authorized me to proceed with my lawsuit against the defendants.”

The court was threatening to issue “an arrest warrant” without presenting any valid grounds or an order on record, according to Siddiquee.
