The iconic Javed Akhtar is a recipient of the Padma Shri (1999) & Padma Bhushan (2007). Also, he is the winner of the Richard Dawkins Award in 2020. So far, the poet has won five National Film Awards for Best Lyrics. Apart from this, Javed Akhtar has to his credit eight Filmfare Awards for Best Lyricist.
