The young lad with a dream to attain stardom, gets molested by the lead actor. When the parents see the video, they are shattered and decide to take the matter to higher authorities. The star’s team offers a hefty amount for their silence. They succumb to the offer but in spite of the money and the luxuries, do they buy peace in the bargain or do they feel trapped as the name kafas signifies.
This six-episode series is an adaptation of the 2018 mini-series by BBC, “Dark Money.” The series touches on the sensitive issue of child abuse and its far-reaching effects. Sunny, the protagonist, the starry blue-eyed, talented boy with dreams in his eyes treads into a path that is glorious yet rocky. The entire team has tried their best to handle the topic without being judgemental.
Each character has a hidden story. The father had remarried, they need the money to afford a better standard for their kids, the brother and sister don’t see eye to eye yet when the sister discovers the truth, she stands up for justice for her brother. Each episode is thought provoking and we are left thinking, money vs justice. Will the upper strata of society win or is right the might???
