Kangana Ranaut recently reflected on her early days as a struggling actress, revealing that she and the other females who used to live with her were able to cover many of their bills by relying on their male acquaintances. Kangana Ranaut left her home in Himachal Pradesh at the age of 16 to pursue her aspirations, and she struggled financially until she made her acting debut three years later in the film Gangster.

Kangana recalled moving to Delhi with $10,000 and residing in a PG with a friend before being signed by a modelling agency and relocated to Mumbai. She praised the Delhi lads, remarking that they always paid the food expenses.

She told Curly Tales on YouTube, “Delhi was a very other story. I’m not sure how things are now, but there were 5-6 ladies back then, and we all had male friends. Unko apne driver banaya hota tha (We had made them our drivers). They used to take us out and pay our bills on our behalf. This is meant as a respect to the Delhi lads. They’d cover all of your expenses, and we didn’t eat much anyhow. They used to take us to really expensive restaurants. When I was making money, I would occasionally pay, so there was no pressure to pay.”

Kangana added that moving from Delhi to Mumbai following this event was a bit of a cultural shock for her. She stated, “But when I moved to Mumbai, even going on a date required Dutch. So, this was very new to me, and it was a cultural shock. I never paid for a date in Chandigarh. However, in Mumbai, everyone is so realistic that you must pay equally even if you are on a date. You pay for water if you have it. I believe that is OK. It’s cool, I don’t believe it’s not cool.”

Dhaakad, a spy action thriller starring Arjun Rampal as antagonist Rudraveer, an international human and arms trafficker who has been off the radar for ten years, will include Kangana as Agent Agni, a super-spy. The film, directed by Razneesh Ghai and starring Divya Dutta, Sharib Hashmi, and Saswata Chatterjee, will be released on May 20.
