The actress‘ film Tanu Weds Manu released in theaters on 25th February, 10 years ago.
In addition the movie was directed by Aanand L. Rai. It was written by Himanshu Sharma.
Produced by Vinod Bachan and Shailesh R Singh, the movie had a sequel too. It was released in 2015.
The sequel was titled Tanu Weds Manu: Returns. In both the movies Kangana Ranaut played the female lead protagonist.
Actor Madhavan essayed the male lead opposite the actress in both the films.
The romantic comedy was liked by the audience.
The first part of the movie also had actors Swara Bhaskar, Jimmy Sheirgill and Eijaz Khan in it among others.
Further today’ date marks the 10th release anniversary of Tanu Weds Manu.
Actress Kangana Ranaut took to get social networking account, Twitter and wrote about the film. She also wrote about how the film made her career.
In a tweet, she wrote,
" I was stuck in edgy/neurotic roles, this film changed the trajectory of my career, was my entry in to mainstream that too with comedy, with Queen and Datto I strengthened my comic timing and became the only actress after legendary SriDevi ji to do comedy #10yearsoftanuwedsmanu "

She wrote,
“Thanks to @aanandlrai and our writer Himanshu Sharma for this franchise, when they came to me as struggling makers I thought I can make their careers but instead they made my career, one can never tell which film will work and which won’t, all destiny, glad my destiny has you”
