Kangana Ranaut’s twitter account has been permanently suspended after she violated the guidelines of the micro-blogging site. The actress had made objectionable comments on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in a series of tweets.
Kangana was criticizing Mamata Banerjee in the tweets for the alleged violence that took in West Bengal on Sunday, May 2 after the announcement of State Assembly Election result.
In her series of tweets, she demanded ‘Presidents rule’ in the state after the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party won the elections and there were reports of violence in the Bengal. She said that no violence was reported from Assam and Puducherry where BJP won, but ‘hundreds of murders and #Bengalisburning’ after Mamta’s party TMC won the election.
After Kangana’s Twitter account was suspended, she told the new agency ANI, “Twitter has only proved my point they’re Americans and by birth, a white person feels entitled to enslave a brown person, they want to tell you what to think, speak or do. I have many platforms I can use to raise my voice, including my own art in the form of cinema.”
“But my heart goes out to the people of this nation who have been tortured, enslaved, and censored for thousands of years, and still, there is no end to the suffering”, she added.
Twitter official personnel told news agency ANI on permanent suspension of account that, “We have been clear that we’ll take strong enforcement action on behavior that has the potential to lead to offline harm. The account has been permanently suspended for repeated violations of Twitter rules specifically our hateful conduct and policy and abusive behavior policy.”
In the 294 seat state assembly, Mamata Banerjee led TMC party won 213 seats in the state assembly election while BJP won only 77 seats in the state.
