After dealing with the coronavirus for a very long time, vaccines from two pharmaceutical companies is successfully launched in India. The first one is ‘Covishield’ launched by Serum Institute of India and the second is ‘Covaxin.’ that is introduced by Bharat Biotech. Vaccination is very important as it reduces the chances of getting Covid-19 positive. The approved vaccines are completely safe, and this vaccinations will help in protecting you from getting affected by the disease. The vaccination helps in building up of immunity in your body. Getting vaccination will also reduce the chances of spreading the disease, because if you are not getting affected by the virus then you are less likely to spread it among others.

Below mention are certain tips that should be taken in consideration before going for Vaccination.

  • Eat before going for Vaccination

Do not go for vaccination with an empty stomach. Eat a healthy meal that includes leafy vegetables or food like Broccoli, spinach, carrots and potatoes as it is rich in antioxidants as it will help in boosting immunity.

  • Stay hydrated

Drink plenty of water, before going for vaccination. You can also keep yourself hydrated by drinking green tea or any health beverage would be a great way to hydrate yourself before taking the shot.

  • Get good sleep

A good sleep reduces your stress and helps in boosting up your immunity. A good sleep can lead to a healthy lifestyle therefore it is recommended to have a good sleep at night before taking the vaccination.

  • Avoid alcohol

Avoid alcohol for a week before and after taking the vaccination, because alcohol dehydrates the body and would weaken your immunity system. Binge-drinking should be avoided for 45 days before taking the vaccination.

  • Do not smoke

Avoid smoking before and after vaccination because smoking lowers the antibody response to several vaccines. Instead, go for alternative methods like a nicotine patch or gum.

  • Add Zinc food in your Diet

Zinc is present in animal protein, in sprouts, legumes, nuts and seeds. Starting eating all of this a week prior of taking the shot because Zinc helps in boosting the antibody responses.

  • Eat high Protein food

Add protein food like egg, meat and sprouts in your diet Protein intake in the body is crucial.

  • Wear sleeveless or short-sleeved  dress

The injection is going to get facilitated on your arm, therefore it is recommended to wear sleeveless or short-sleeved dress or T-shirt.

  • Cancel appointment if having Covid like symptoms

If you are facing any covid like symptoms don’t go for vaccination. Cancel your appointment and contact your doctor immediately. You can re- schedule your appointment after getting recovered from Covid.

  • Contact Doctor if you are under any Medication

If you are under any medication if you’re facing any disease it is recommended to take your doctor’s permission prior of taking vaccination. Your ongoing medication might bring certain side effects with vaccination therefore it will be safe to ask your doctor first and take only if he allows you.

Taking Vaccination is very important and don’t forget to carry your Id proof with yourself. After the shot be seated at the vaccination center for 15-30 minutes. Let the Health workers monitor you for immediate reactions.

Report them immediately if you feel dizzy or have nausea, vomiting, or any allergic reaction. And in case if your feel some minor side effects like fever or arm pain, body pain, weakness Joint and muscle pain then that’s completely normal, and you don’t have to worry about it.  You can take paracetamol, but if the symptoms last more than a week then contact your doctor immediately.
