Major, starring Adivi Sesh, will be streamable on Netflix starting July 3 in Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam, the OTT service said on Thursday.

Major, directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, is based on the biography of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who gave his life defending Mumbai from terrorist assaults in 2008. On June 3, the movie debuted to mediocre reviews.
Major is not a legitimate war film. It is totally unrealistic. Instead, Adivi, who also wrote the script for the film, liberally sprinkles it with the classic romanticism seen in many Indian films of this kind. This movie’s themes are overused. In contrast, the familiar themes are woven into a non-linear story that ebbs and flows by director Sashi Kiran Tikka and editors Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi and Kodati Pavan Kalyan.
The biographical drama is directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, who previously helmed the 2018 spy-thriller Goodachaari, off a story by the actor himself. Saiee Manjrekar, Prakash Raj, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Revathy are other major cast members in addition to Sesh. Sony Pictures International Productions, GMB Entertainment, and A+S Movies collaborated to produce Major.
Major, which had a production budget of Rs. 30 crore and earned Rs. 66 crores at the box office globally, was a financial triumph. The response from the reviewers, who lauded the performances and execution, was also fairly favorable.
Major was Sesh’s first publication following the 2019 crime thriller Evaru. He will next be featured in HIT: The Second Case, a stand-alone follow-up to the 2020 crime thriller HIT: The First Case, which is starring Vishwak Sen.
