Extra fat in the liver causes fatty liver disease. This is a typical occurrence among alcoholics. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) cases have also increased in young adults in recent decades as a result of poor lifestyle choices.

According to epidemiological studies, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease affects 9 percent to 32 percent of the general population in India, and those who are overweight or obese, have diabetes or prediabetes have a higher risk of developing it, according to a study published in the National Library of Medicine.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is divided into two types. The first is basic fatty liver disease, in which there is fat in the liver but no inflammation or damage to the liver cells. Inflammation or damage to your liver cells can occur in non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), which can lead to significant complications such as fibrosis, cirrhosis, and liver cancer.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease can be caused by a number of causes, including high blood cholesterol, obesity, high blood sugar levels, high triglyceride levels, metabolic syndrome, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and sleep apnea.

“Non-alcoholic fatty liver has become more common in recent decades, particularly among young individuals, as a result of poor lifestyle choices. Every month, I see about 30 patients with liver problems. Most of them may be reversed simply by changing one’s lifestyle rather than spending money on medications.

These foods are difficult to digest and should be avoided. When your liver function is bad, even raw food should be avoided. Deep-fried, fermented (especially urad dal/black gramme), processed (maida), packaged, and sugary foods should also be avoided. Millets, cooked vegetables, rice, and rice-millet based meals are easy to digest.
