The spread of the second wave of novel corona virus has affected the human race on all fronts. Countless people have bid adieu to this world in the surge of novel corona virus.  

In a tragic turn of events, Tamil filmmaker Thamira passed away due to complications related covid-19 in a private hospital in Chennai on Tuesday, April 27 at the age of 53.The news came as a shock across the Tamil film industry. 

Thamira assisted filmmakers K Balachander and Bharathiraja before making his directorial debut. In 2010, he directed the film ‘Rettaisuzhi’ starring K Balachander, Bharathiraja, Anjali and Aari. 

He also directed the upcoming web series ‘My Perfect Husband’ starring Sathyaraj and Seetha.

Many celebs from the fraternity extended their grief on social media.

Ghibran took to Twitter and wrote, “We have lost another true gem. #Thamira sir remained true to his craft and never chased fame or money. Working with him was a great gift. May his soul RIP. Heartfelt condolences to sir’s family.”

Ramya Pandian tweeted, “#RIPThamira sir. The entire cast and crew of Aan Devathai have always been treated with utmost respect. He has supported me and cared for me like one of his family members and this is a personal loss. You are missed very dearly sir. Deepest condolences to the family.”
