Gauahar Khan replaced by Swati Vatsa In Disney+ Hotstar’s ‘Those Pricey Thakur Girls’

Disney+ Hotstar has made a mark in the Indian web space by offering shows like Criminal Justice, Aarya, and many others. The upcoming web series on the streaming platform is Those Pricey Thakur Girls.  The web series is based on the novel of Anuja Chauhan titled Those Pricey Thakur Girls.  The series will revolve around parents and five daughters.

Those Pricey Thakur Girls series are being produced by Sobo Films. Disney+ Hotstar has been accelerating its content lately with some exclusive titles.  The streaming platform has gained sizeable popularity amongst OTT viewers.  Keeping this in mind, the concept of Those Pricey Thakur Girls is based on the Indian lifestyle.  It is expected that the views will relate to the characters.

The casting has been ensembled for a while now and Gauahar Khan was playing a pivotal role in the series. Yesteryear’s popular actresses like Padmini Kolhapure and Poonam Dhillon are also on board. Popular names like Raj Babbar, Anjali Anand, and Akshay Oberoi have been roped in for various roles in the series.  The entire cast started the shoot for the series along with other actors.

Why Gauahar Khan has been replaced

Recently BMC filed FIR against Gauhar Khan for violating Covid 19 protocol.  The actress had stepped out for shooting despite testing positive for the virus. Consequently, Gauahar Khan has been debarred for two months by the authorities.  Reportedly, Gauahar Khan has been replaced in the web series, “Those Pricey Thakur Girls” by Swati Vatsa. Swati is best known for her performance in the play An Ode to MV Wisdom. She worked as a model and also acted in a few TV commercials for the brands like Parachute Oil, Yes Bank, Rexona Deo, etc. Swati debuted on TV with Bindass’s “Girl In the City” in the year 2016. She was also seen in “Shockers 2” by Hotstar.

The makers of “Those Pricey Thakur Girls” have been low-key on the information. There was no confirmation about the replacement of Gauahar Khan from the producers.
