Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Japan for a two-day visit to attend the Quad Summit, was greeted at a hotel in Tokyo on Monday by members of the Indian diaspora as well as Japanese people. His chat with the youngsters there stuck out throughout his involvement with them.
PM Modi’s contact with the children was extensively shown on video. One of the Japanese children even addressed the Prime Minister in Hindi. PM Modi, clearly moved, inquired: “Waah! From whom did you learn Hindi? You speak it fluently.”
The children that engaged with the Prime Minister were ecstatic to acquire his autograph.
The Indian diaspora greeted PM Modi with chants of “Bharat Ma ka sher” (India’s lion).

The Quad conference is anticipated to address major security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region. Peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait are important to all members. The US government, led by Vice President Joe Biden, is focused on conveying a deterrent message to Taiwan.
“Quad has a good, constructive objective,” Indian Ambassador to Japan Sanjay Kumar Verma said. “We don’t target a nation or area for that.” What we want for is that peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific area be maintained.”
