Actress Shilpa Shetty’s businessman husband Raj Kundra was arrested on July 19 in connection with a case of allegedly making and streaming pornographic content through mobile applications. Raj Kundra has been in police custody since then and his custody has been extended till July 27.
Mumbai court on Friday extended the police custody till July 27 of Raj Kundra along with his business associate, Ryan Thorpe.
Sharing the details, ANI tweeted, “Maharashtra: Police produced Shilpa Shetty’s husband & businessman Raj Kundra and Ryan Thorpe before Magistrate Court and sought 7 days further police custody, in connection with a case relating to the production of pornographic films.”
In another tweet, ANI tweeted, “Police suspect that money earned from pornography was used for online betting. This is why transactions between Raj Kundra’s Yes bank account and United Bank of Africa account need to be investigated, Mumbai Police tells Court.”
The police suspected that money earned through pornographic content was used for online betting. Raj Kundra had financial transactions with the United Bank of Africa and Yes bank.
Meanwhile, Shilpa Shetty’s latest film Hungama 2, will premiere on Disney Plus Hotstar today. The movie also stars Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Johnny Lever, Meezaan Jafri, and Pranitha Subhash. The film marks Shilpa’s return to movies after 14 years. Hungama 2 also marks the return of director Priyadarshan to Hindi films after 8 years. His last Hindi was Rangrezz, starring Jackky Bhagnani in the lead role, released in 2013.
