From October 22, the upcoming Kannada film Rathnan Prapancha, featuring actor Dhananjaya, will be available to watch on Amazon Prime Video. Reba Monica John, Umashree, Ravishankar, Anu Prabhakar, Pramod, Vainidhi Jagadeesh, Achyuth Kumar, and Shruthi Krishna appear in the film, which is billed as a trip comedy-drama. The announcement was made by Amazon Prime Video on October 5, and it was backed by Karthik and Yogi G Raj under the umbrella of KRG Studios.
Ratnakara’s life and journey will be the subject of Rathnan Prapancha, a man on a mission to discover his roots while navigating the hazards of his current existence. The film will follow what occurs as he re-discovers himself, and it will be filled with shock, hilarity, conflict, and a variety of emotions. Mayuri, a journalist, is accompanying him on this expedition.
In a press release about the film, director Rohit Padaki stated that he enjoys playing with different genres, but that he is particularly fond of stories that center on the protagonist’s journey of self-discovery. “I enjoy playing with different genres, but I really enjoy the path of self-discovery. Rathnan Prapancha is one such narrative of a guy in search of what he feels would bring him joy, but life has other plans for him,” Rohit said.
Meanwhile, Karthik Gowda, one of the project’s backers, observed that Rathnan Prapancha has managed to integrate humour into the storey, which is centred on travel. “Rathnan Prapancha is one of those rare films with a little of humour woven into the drama and a theme of travel,” he added. The filmmaker also mentioned that the tale is global, which is why he chose the OTT platform. Sushant Sreeram, the head of marketing for Amazon Prime Video in India, echoed his sentiments, saying, “Great Stories have no borders.”
