Regarding BTS’s World Expo 2030 Busan Korea Concert, HYBE has issued a statement.
HYBE addressed the matter of the required costs to cover the upcoming event in the statement. The organization said that they had already made it clear that a sizable percentage of the costs will be covered by corporate sponsorship, internet streaming commercials, a subsidiary company called THE CITY, and other sources. In order to meet the remaining costs that cannot be paid for by these actions, HYBE has opted to personally pay them. In an effort to fulfill their earlier dreams of taking part in a free performance with fans, they emphasized that BTS will also be playing unpaid.
HYBE commented that BTS had previously taken part in national events without giving financial considerations much thought, instead carefully considering government assistance because it was public money. The same will hold true for the concert in Busan, and the national, municipal, and exhibition committees are working hard to find a location and raise money for the concert on a shoestring budget. HYBE made it clear that they did not believe it was desirable for significant sums of money to be spent by corporations and governments on the event. Because they focused on producing results that were high caliber and relevant in and of itself, BTS achieved tremendous success at past national competitions.
“HYBE and BTS are happy to contribute to the country,” HYBE stated in a statement expressing their goal to maintain the level of the performance at the event. Particularly, they saw the occasion as a significant chance, especially in light of the fact that BTS and HYBE, two international artists, had South Korean roots. Not to add, the 2030 Busan World Expo will have a significant economic impact on Korea and Busan, amounting to many tens of billions of dollars.
