Veteran Bollywood actor Sharmila Tagore, 76, received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine at a hospital on Saturday. Her daughter Saba Ali Khan took to social media to share the news.
In the photo shared by Saba on her Instagram the actress is seen showing the victory sign as she gets vaccinated.
Sharmila’s daughter and actor Soha Ali Khan with actor husband and her daughter Inaaya are currently with Sharmila Tagore at Pataudi Palace.
Veteran actors like Dharmendra, Paresh Rawal, Satish Shah, Hema Malini, Anupam Kher, Mohanlal and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan and comedian Johnny Lever have also received the first dose of the vaccine recently.
On Friday, Dharmendra tweeted, “Tweet karte karte…. Josh aa gaya… aur main nikal gaya… vaccination lene… it’s definitely not a show off… but to inspire you all… Friends, please take care”. The actor also reminded everyone to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
The central government announced that from March 1, everyone above 60 years of age and those over 45 years with comorbidities will be able to get the corona virus vaccinations for free of cost at government hospitals and for a charge at a private hospital.
