Shefali Shah loses the 51st International Emmy Award to Karla Souza.

Shefali Shah was nominated for the best actress for her performance in the second season of Delhi Crime. The ceremony was held in New York.

The first season of Delhi Crime had won the International Emmy for the best drama series in the year 2020. This is a huge honor and Shefali Shah states, “It’s a validation that what I set out to do with Vartika was right, my understanding of her was right, she is relevant, relatable and inspiring.”

Actor Karla Souza wins the best actress performance for her role in the Mexican series La Caida. The others that were nominated in this category were Conie Nielsen for the Danish series Drommeren and Billie Piper for the British show I Hate Suzie Too.

Shefali graced the occasion in a simple yet elegant saree and looked gorgeous. Ahead of the ceremony, Shefali had said, “I am very excited, just over the moon, very very happy. It’s a huge validation and it’s still sinking in.” Shefali had loved the script and the storyline and her heart went out for the plot and she played her part with grace and perfection.
