Its when we set are mind to eating less, is when we feel most hungry. It feels like food is always on our mind. Remember, it’s not about eating less, it’s about eating right. Nutritionist Simrun Chopra sheds some light on the matter.
She feels that avoiding any kind of nutrient creates a gap in the body and makes one feel constantly hungry and deprived. Here below are some simple hacks one can follow to feel full.
- EAT A PROTEIN DENSE BREAKFAST-
Eating a breakfast high in protein keeps you feeling fuller and stay more active. This only prevents binging and the insulin spike.
- KEEP YOURSELF HYDRATED
Water makes you feel full. Drink a glass of water minimum 30 minutes prior to any meal, you will eat less.
- VEGETABLES ARE THE KEY
Try to add colour to your plate. Eat all kinds of vegetables and salads. Be mindful of the portion size.
- ADD PROTEIN IN EVERY MEAL
Simrun Chopra insists on the value of protein. It has to be a part of every meal, even if it is a cup of dahi. Protein helps the secretion of ghrelin hormones, that control hunger pangs.
- REDUCE GAP BETWEEN MEALS
Having a long gap between meals increases craving for food. Include fiber and protein in your evening snacks to manage hunger.
