BJP leader and actor Sonali Phogat was drugged by her manager Sudhir Sangwan and his associate at a restaurant on Goa’s Anjuna Beach before returning to her hotel. The sudden demise of the 41-year-old Haryana leader, who had a huge fan following, has left everyone in a state of shock. She was cremated in her native Hisar, with her teenage daughter, Yashodhara, lighting up the pyre.
Phogat’s brother strongly believes it’s a murder. The autopsy report revealed that were numerous blunt force injuries over the actress’ body.
Her associates- Sudhir Sangvan and Sukhwinder Singh- seen on CCTV footage from the popular shack Curlies, were arrested. Goa DGP Jaspal Singh said that Sangvan has confessed the crime and told the police that he had mixed some ‘obnoxious’ substance in her drink and forced her to have it. The police are suspecting the substance to be MDMA.
As far as the events of the tragic night go, Bishnoi said, “The victim was not in her senses and the accused tried to balance her. At 4.30 am when she lost control, the accused took her to the washroom, and they stayed there for two hours. But the accused have not given any explanation for this.”
Her associates took her to the hotel, Grand Leonny, where all of them were staying. When she was brought to a hospital in Anjuna, the next morning, it initially was assumed to be a heart attack. But the family sensed something was amiss and demanded a thorough probe.
Rinku Dhaka, her brother, believes that the motive behind her kitting is the intention to take over her properties and assets.
The late 41-year-old TikTok star had an illustrious career in the entertainment industry. She gained massive popularity following her stint in the reality show Big Boss in 2020.
