Actor Tamannah Bhatia, has been called on the 29th of April by the Maharashtra Cyber department in a case of illegal broadcast of the IPL on Fairplay app, a subsidiary of Mahadev online gaming and betting application.
As per the latest news, Tamannah and Sanjay Dutt, endorsed the FairPlay’s subsidiary app. They were summoned by the Maharashtra cyber cell for allegedly promoting the viewing of the matches on the betting app.
To give your more details, the FairPlay app, is a betting exchange platform and offers a wide variety of sports and entertainment leisure gambling. The app supposedly does not have the permission from Viacom 18, which has the exclusive rights to broadcast the cricket matches. The illegal streaming has caused major loses to the main company.
The Maharashtra cyber cell has recorded the statements of singer Badshah and the managers of actors Sanjay Dutt and Jacqueline Fernandez in the case.
The case that has been registered is that without acquiring legal rights, these apps have been showing Viacom 18 content for a monetary benefit and causing losses to the company.
