The popular standup comedian Kapil Sharma has turned 40 today (April 2). On the occasion of his birthday, let’s revisit his success journey from Amritsar to Mumbai. He started his career as a contestant in a reality show and now is ruling the industry from his comedy.
Kapil was first seen on ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ and later was declared the winner of the show. He also won the Comedy Circus aired on Sony Six and have also hosted couple of reality shows.
In the year 2013, he launched his own show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ on Colors channel. In 2015, he made his Bollywood debut from the film ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ alongside Eli Avram, Manjari Phadnis, Simran Kaur and Sai Lokur in the lead. Then in the following year, he started his new show aired on Sony TV ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’.
Kapil Sharma married his long time girlfriend Ginni Chatrath in 2018 in Jalandhar. The couple was blessed with a baby girl Anayra in 2019 and a baby boy earlier this year.
Today, he is one of the most successful stars of the entertainment industry and enjoys huge stardom. He has always said that his popularity is a result of 15 years of hard work. His journey to success has been with lots of up’s and down’s.
