I am a big fan of British history and The Crown has had me hooked on. The concluding season Part 2 is out on Netflix, and Peter Morgan has tried to tie up all loose sends to end the series.
The first part covers Diana’s relationship with Dodi and her sad, ill-fated demise. The second part, changes in tone, pace and the mood as we see William inherit his mother’s popularity and his father’s burden to be in line for the throne. Ed McVey plays Prince William and Luther Ford plays Harry.
The second part brings to light how the children suffer immensely their mother’s death, partially blame their father and as time progresses make peace with Prine Charles. The Queen plays an excellent Granny. I love the part where Harry truly states that for William to be popular, he has to play the rogue.
A fair share has been devoted to Prince William and Kate’s romance brewing at St. Andrews. Its insightful to know how Kate’s mother had pulled strings to make this happen. Its sad to see the end of Princess Margaret and Queen Mother.
Tony Blair, the Prime Minister is a charismatic figure. I like his stand and the suggestions he makes to improve the monarchy. Overall, I have loved the series, enjoyed every season and learnt a lot. The impact Diana had on the world and her kids, is something to learn from, an ever- doting mother and a loving figure. Take the time and watch this series on Netflix.
