Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha premiered “Nasha: It Kills,” a film directed by Aditya Tickoo and produced by MX Player.
Filmmaker Aditya Tickoo and Producer Tarun Uppal were complimented by the Lt Governor for putting out a film about a timely societal topic.
The film was created with the goal of raising public awareness about the dangers of drug misuse and the devastating consequences it has on people, families, communities, and society.
The Lieutenant Governor believed that the film would raise public awareness of the dangers of drug usage.
The Lt Governor praised the young filmmaker’s efforts and encouraged him to keep creating movies and disseminating social messages via them.
Meanwhile, the Lt Governor was joined by Dr Nazir A Ganai, Vice Chancellor of SKUAST Kashmir, for a meeting with two student innovators and national award winners from SKUAST Kashmir.
Ambreen Hamadani, a PhD student, has won several national prizes, including first place in the National Elocution Contest held by the Agricultural Science Congress at Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi.
She was also awarded a grant of Rs 11 lakh by the India Innovation Growth Program (IIGP). She is a young student inventor who is developing the “SmartSheepBreeder” student start-up, an IoT-based and AI-driven Decision Support System (DSS) for sheep breeders. Another student, Ms Munjib Maryam, was the winner of the National Youth Parliament, which was held recently in New Delhi.
The Lieutenant Governor congratulated the students on their accomplishments and wished them well in their future endeavours. He urged the students to pursue technological advancements and strive for the sake of farmers.
The Lt Governor asked the Vice-Chancellor to introduce contemporary agricultural technologies in order to establish Jammu Kashmir the country’s first Model Bio-economy Region.
