The official music video for Coldplay and BTS’s collaboration tune ‘My Universe’ has been released, and it is unlike anything we’ve seen before.
In the video, set in a dystopian future when music is forbidden, the British rockers team up with the South Korean superstars utilising holograms. “Once upon a time, many years from now… music is prohibited throughout realms,” the video begins.
It continues to say, “Three separate bands disobey the prohibition on three different worlds. DJ Lafrique, on her extraterrestrial radio ship, uses holoband to connect them. They are being pursued by their silencers at all times.”
The music video arrives barely a week after the poetic video, which was released on Friday. The musicians’ new track is supposed to be a love song to their fans. It will appear on the band’s upcoming album, ‘Music of The Spheres,’ which will be led by Chris Martin.
Fans have been singing along to the catchy chorus of the song, and it has already become a smash “You are my universe, and all I want to do is put you first. You, on the other hand, are my universe, and you light up my world on the inside…”
BTS also contributes to the song with Korean lyrics.
While the two bands appear in the music video as holograms, fans were thrilled to learn that they met in person to record the song and also met last week while BTS was in the United States for the United Nations General Assembly.
BTS, which consists of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, and Jungkook, also sat down with Chris for a YouTube special ahead of the release of ‘BTS ‘Permission to Dance’ MV (Shorts Challenge version)’.
Fans were ecstatic when the K-Pop group announced their first LIVE performance in two years on Tuesday. In November and December, the band will perform a unique four-day show in Los Angeles. Since the epidemic, this will be their first LIVE concert.
