Tokyo Olympics 2020 is bringing some incredible news for India. Earlier the spirits of Indian men and women’s hockey team was celebrated and now Neeraj Chopra topped the qualification round and sailed into the javelin throw final in first attempt at the Tokyo Olympics on Wednesday.
The first throw by the 23-year-old athletic of 86.65m stunned everyone and was enough for him to get an entry in the finals of the javelin throw. As he dazed everybody with his perfect throw, now he require similar execution with a higher score to be in conflict for India’s maiden track-and-field medal at the Olympic games.
Neeraj Chopra with his big throw of 86.65m has made him the first Indian javelin thrower to enter the finals of the Games and has put him in the Group ‘A’ qualification. In his first attempt, he required only a couple seconds to make that cut, sending the spear beyond the immediate passing mark of 83.50m. Neeraj after his wonderstruck event said that, I am at my first Olympic Games, and I feel very good. In the warm-up, my performance wasn’t so good, but then (in the qualifying round) my first throw had a good angle and was a perfect throw.”
This performance of Neerja will be surly remembered as one of the best performance in the India Olympics. Earlier in 2017, he also won a gold-medal favourite against world champion Johannes Vetter of Germany.
