The Trailer of highly awaited movie of the year ‘Toofan’ starring Farhan Akhtar and Mrunal Thakur has released today. Director Omprakash Mehra was delaying the release of the movie because of amid covid-19 pandemic. But now the trailer is out, and the movie is all set to release on July 16, 2021 on Amazon Prime Video. The film will mark its release across 240 countries and territories.
The impending film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani (Excel Entertainment), Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra (ROMP Pictures), and Farhan. Rakeysh has helmed the highly-anticipated sports drama.
Film ‘Toofan will mark as a second collaboration with Rakeysh after the blockbuster hit movie ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ that was based on the biopic of late Indian athlete Milkha Singh.
Talking about the film, Farhan will portray the role of a national-level boxing player. The shooting of the film was done at the real locations of Dongri slums and the Gateway of India across the Mumbai city.
Paresh Rawal, Supriya Pathak Kapur, Hussain Dalal, Mohan Agashe, and Darshan Kumaar, will also be seen starring in the film.
Actor Farhan often shares photos and videos related to film on his social media handle. Few days back the actor shared the poster of the film which also revealed actress Mrunal’s look in the film and wrote, “Life can’t break you when love holds you together. Trailer out on 30th June. #ToofaanOnPrime.”
Earlier in May, film’s lead actor made the announcement on postpone of the boxing drama due to covid-19 second wave. Frahan posted the Joint statement on tweeter along with partner Ritesh Sidhwani and the film’s director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.
On June 16, Farhan made the announcement on his tweeter account that the film will be marking its releasing on the OTT platform on July 16. Farhan tweet reads, “With humility, love and in dedication to the fighting spirit of the beautiful people of our nation, our film ‘Toofaan’ will be releasing on July 16th. #ToofaanOnPrime.”
On work front, the actor will be seen in movie ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’. The movie was stalled, as actor Rishi Kapoor unfortunately passed away. According to the reports by the free press Journal, late actor Rishi will be replaced in the film by Paresh Rawal.
