Malayalam actor KTS Padannayil alias KT Subramanian Padannayil passed away today morning, July 22 at around 6.40 am. He was 88. The veteran actor was admitted to a private hospital in Kadavanthara, Kochi on July 19, and was undoing treatment for age-related ailments. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and actor Prithviraj Sukumaran paid their tribute to KTS Padannayil.

KTS Padannayil started his career as a theatre artist and stepped into Mollywood in the 1990s. He made his debut in 1995 with Aniyan Bava Chettan Bava. He stole the hearts of millions of people through his unique dialogue delivery.

The actor impressed everyone with his performance in Sreekrishnapurathe Nakshatrathilakkam and Vrudhanmare Sookshikkuka. He acted in more than 60 films and in many television comedy serials. Some of his popular films include Kunjiramayanam Adyathe Kanmani Swapnalokathe Balabhaskar, and Amar Akbar Anthony.

The veteran actor is survived by his wife Ramani and four children – Sannan, Shyam, Swapna, and Salijan.”

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan condoled the death of Padannayil. According to the reports, his condolence message read, “Padannayil had portrayed characters that reflected the realities of life on screen.”

Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran shared a picture of KTS Padannayil and paid last respects to him. “Rest in peace,” the actor wrote.
