The 67th National film awards were announced on Monday in New Delhi. The event was organized by the Directorate of Film festivals which come under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The award ceremony was supposed to be held in May 2020 but delayed due to pandemic. 

The best acting honors went to Manoj Bajapayee for Bhonsle, Dhanush for Tamil film Asuran and Kangana Ranaut for two of her films: Panga and Manikarnika: The queen of Jhansi.

National Film Awards

Director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan was awarded for Bahattar Hoorain, Feature film award was given to Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea (Malayalam), Pallavi Joshi was awarded with best supporting actress for The Tashkent Files (Hindi) and Vijay Sethupathi won the award for best supporting actor for Super Deluxe (Tamil). 

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput film Chhichhore won the award for Best Hindi Film, Jersey won the award of Best Telugu Film, Kalla Nottam won the award of Best Malayalam Film. 

Award for Best Female Playback Singer and Best Male Playback Singer were given to Savani Ravindra for Bardo (Marathi) and B Praak for Kesari (Hindi) respectively. 

The award for Most Film Friendly State was given to Sikkim and Best Book on Cinema was given to A Gandhian Affair: India’s Curious Portrayal of Love in Cinema, by Sanjay Suri.
