Tamil actor Karthi who was last seen in the action film Sulthan opposite Rashmika Mandanna, took the first jab of the covid-19 vaccine. The actor shared the picture on social media platforms to inform the same to his fans.  

He took to Twitter and Instagram on Friday to inform his fans that he has taken the first jab of the covid-19 vaccine. “Took my first dose of the vaccine. #CovidVaccine”. The 44-year-old actor was dressed casually in a blue t-shirt and jeans with his hair left messy, as he received the vaccine from the medical professional.

Recently on his birthday (May 25), Karthi released an official statement in Tamil on social media, wherein he urged his fans to stay indoors and follow the safety measures as per the guidelines.  

Several other celebs including Aishwarya Rajesh, Malavika Mohanan, Pragya Jaiswal, Ashok Selvan among others have recently taken the first jab of novel coronavirus vaccine.

On the work front, Karthi will be seen in the long-awaited historical drama film ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ which is based on a Tamil novel of the same name. The film also features Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Jayaram, Vikram Prabhu, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Aishwarya Lekshmi. The film is directed and co-produced by Mani Ratnam and is set to release in two parts.
