Hindi film producer, director Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s elder brother Vir Chopra passed away. Vir Chopra left for heavenly abode on July 5 due to covid-19 complications. According to the reports, Vir had traveled to the Maldives for a vacation amidst the pandemic and there he got infected with the deadly virus.
As per the reports, Vir Chopra returned to Mumbai, two days after he contracted the deadly virus. After he landed in Mumbai, he was rushed to H.N. Reliance hospital. He was kept under the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and got treated for 21 days after he was admitted. The report mentioned that Vir Chopra breathed his last on July 5 and he was cremated the following day.
Vir Chopra is survived by his wife, Namita Nayak Chopra who has worked in the film industry as a sound designer, and son, actor Abhay Chopra, also known as Vicky Chopra.
He has worked as a creative producer on many of his brother Vidhu’s films. He started his journey with the film, Kareeb featuring Bobby Deol and Shabana Raza. He worked as a creative producer on many successful films like Munnabhai MBBS, Lage Raho Munnabhai, Mission Kashmir, Ferrari Ki Sawaari, Parineeta, 3 Idiots among others. His last project was Broken Horses which got released in 2015.
