Raj Kundra, who was summoned by the Mumbai Crime Branch on Monday night, July 19, in a case registered against him for creating and streaming pornographic films. Many celebrities like Poonam Pandey, Gehana Vasisth, and Mika Singh, and have reacted to his arrest.
Mika Singh reacted
Mika Singh reacted to Raj Kundra’s arrest. He claimed that he has seen Raj’s app and didn’t find anything wrong with it. “Mujhe itna knowledge nahi unki (Raj Kundra) app ke baare mein. Maine ek app dekhi thi, woh simple app thi. Itna kuch tha nahi uske andar. Let’s hope for the best (I don’t have much knowledge about Raj Kundra’s app. I had seen one app, which was quite simple. It didn’t have objectionable content. Let’s hope for the best,” the singer added.
What did Poonam Pandey say?
Poonam Pandey, who filed a case against Kundra in 2019, reacted to his arrest and said, “At this moment my heart goes out to Shilpa Shetty and her kids. I can’t imagine what she must be going through. So, I refuse to use this opportunity to highlight my trauma. The only thing I’ll add is that I have filed a police complaint in 2019 against Raj Kundra and subsequently registered a case at the honorable high court of Bombay against him for fraud & theft. This matter is sub judice, hence I would prefer to limit my statements. Also, I have full faith in our police & the judicial process.”
Earlier in 2019, Poonam Pandey had registered a case against Kundra in the Bombay High Court for illegally using content featuring her. This was after she terminated her contract with their company, Armsprime Media.
Gehana Vasisth reacted
Gehana Vasisth also issued a statement after Raj Kundra got arrested. Her statement read, “The law will take its course. We have full faith in the Mumbai police, but they should not mix up porn with erotica or bold content. We have always said that the Mumbai police is the best force in the world. The courts will eventually decide during the trial as to who are the real culprits and which of the arrested accused were merely used, by others.”
Sagarika Shona Suman claims Raj asked her to give a nude audition
In February this year, actress Sagarika claimed that Raj had asked her for a nude audition. Speaking on the same, she said, “My worst experience was when I was asked to give a nude audition on a video call. I refused to give the audition. There were many people on the call, like Umesh Kamat, who is Raj Kundra’s assistant. One person’s face was not visible but I think he was Raj Kundra because Umesh Kamat was constantly saying that all the sites are run by Raj Kundra. I want to ask why Raj Kundra is not being arrested?”
About Raj Kundra’s arrest
Raj Kundra has been booked under IPC sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292, and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays) besides relevant sections of the IT Act and the Indecent Representations of Women (Prohibition) Act. According to the Mumbai Police’s statement, Raj Kundra appears to be the key conspirator in this case.
