The shooting of the popular television show Shakti- Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki was completed a few days ago. Rubina Dilaik, the show’s lead actress, had previously shared photos from the show’s last day and had bid an emotional goodbye to the show. And now, actress Kamya Punjabi, who has been a part of the show since its inception, has spoken out about the show’s significance in her life. The actress revealed in an interview with Etimes that she had struggled with depression in the past before being approached for the show.
As the successful show comes to a close, she talks about her emotions and feelings being attached towards the show. “I cried a lot when the director announced pack-up. I didn’t leave the set for a couple of hours. It has been a few days since the shoot wrapped up, but I continue to feel low,” said Kamya.
She also addressed on the show’s apparent abrupt ending, saying that it was a planned decision that everyone agreed to. She described Shakti as a brand that began on a beautiful note and ended beautifully rather than being dragged unnecessarily.
Due to her separation from Karan Pate, Kamya revealed that she was already going through a difficult time in her life when she was offered the show. She expressed her thoughts on the same by saying, “Shakti has given me a new life. I was in depression when I joined the show. Karan got married in 2015, and I was in no position to work for almost a year. I was in a very bad state when I joined the show in 2016. Iss show ne mujhe zinda rakha aur ek nayi zindagi dee. I immersed myself in work and got out of that phase gradually.”
Kamya also stated that she is currently enjoying her life by spending time with her friends, as she did not have the opportunity to do so previously due to her busy schedule filming the show. The actress also stated that she is not the type to say that she needs a break, but rather that she is a workaholic. She also said, “I am waiting for my husband (Shalabh Dang) to arrive in Mumbai, so that I can have a gathering with my Shakti team at my home. After that, I will go to Delhi.”
