Mithila Palkar, who is known for her OTT ventures such as Little Things, Chopsticks, and Tribhanga, thinks that the recent opening up of the entertainment business has made it simpler for performers to navigate and acquire a variety of possibilities.
Performers are classified for a variety of reasons, and Mithila Palkar feels that with the introduction of the digital media, a new category of OTT actors has emerged. The actor, on the other hand, does not see this type of branding as a disadvantage in terms of chances.
“It is kind of a name, but it isn’t a limiting definition,” she explains of her OTT projects including Little Things, Chopsticks, and Tribhanga. Right now, that’s where they’re mapping you and your path from. It’s as if you’re from the OTT, but it doesn’t end there. That is the beauty of the era we are now living in. You are still everywhere, whether you are a film actor, a theatre actor, a TV actor, or an OTT actor. It’s a wonderful reminder that you’ve seen this girl before, but it doesn’t limit your options.”
And, according to the 28-year-old, the current opening up of the entertainment industry has made it simpler for performers to navigate and obtain a variety of chances. “We’re all playing on the same field now.” She claims, “So Saif Ali Khan did the first Indian original series… it means a lot.”
Mithila Palkar, who has mostly worked in the digital arena and experimented in the medium while it was still in its infancy, says it was a no-brainer for her to take on OTT initiatives at the time.
“Being a decent actor was always my top concern.” The opportunity was crucial, but not the platform. “All I wanted to do was get started and seize every chance that came my way,” she adds.
The actor was recently seen in the last season of Little Things, where she also sang a song, and she credits the programme for all of her good fortune.
