Hiphop/R&B-inspired girl group, XG, announced that they will be releasing “IN THE RAIN” as a re-cut single from their 2nd mini album “AWE” this Friday, April 11.

‘IN THE RAIN’ is a track from XG’s 2nd mini album ‘AWE’, which was released last November and marked their first-ever entry on the Billboard 200 album chart. It is an R&B-inspired track that blends the sound of rainfall with delicate guitar melodies, creating a deeply immersive experience. The song expresses the emotions of facing a breakup by comparing it to the sound of rainfall. The lingering, melancholic atmosphere leaves a lasting impression, and the sound of the continuous rain evokes a quiet, powerful resonance, as if confronting one’s emotions.
The song has been performed during XG’s ongoing world tour, “XG 1st WORLD TOUR ‘The first HOWL’”, earning high praise for its captivating choreography featuring umbrellas.

Additionally, ‘IN THE RAIN x XDM’ will be included for the first time. The song retains the essence of the original track while infusing it with a strong energy, offering a new perspective.
Reborn with a powerful EDM sound, this version carries the spirit of the ‘XDM Series,’ further expanding XG’s distinctive musical world.

Following the global campaign song ‘IS THIS LOVE’ for Shiseido’s ‘ANESSA’, which is currently airing in TV commercials, fans are thrilled about the upcoming single release from the 2nd mini album.

A new visual, featuring all the members dressed in suits, has also been unveiled, so be sure to check it out.
It was also announced yesterday that XG will be headlining the Sahara Stage—the largest indoor stage at Coachella 2025, one of the biggest music festivals in the U.S. – with their performance scheduled for 22:55 local time this weekend.

They are the first Japanese artists ever to be given this slot, making it a remarkable achievement and drawing even more attention to their rising global presence.

XG is currently on their first world tour, “XG 1st WORLD TOUR ‘The first HOWL’”. After their performances in Latin America (São Paulo and Mexico City) in April, followed by a show in Seattle, they will conclude the tour with a final concert at Tokyo Dome on May 14. It has also been announced that on the same day as the tour finale, they will release their 6th single, ‘MILLION PLACES.’

XG’s latest single, ‘IN THE RAIN,’ will be available for streaming starting at 12:00 AM on April 11 (Friday).
