Pratigya 2 actor Anupam Shyam, passed away on August 8, as a result of multiple organ failure. His funeral took place today (August 9) at Shivdham Crematorium in Goregaon, Mumbai. Yashpal Sharma, Sanjay Mishra, and Aditya Srivastava, were among his close friends from the industry, who were present at the crematorium to offer their last respects.
The 63-year-old actor, was hospitalised to Lifeline Hospital in Goregaon four days ago due to kidney infection last week, and multiple organ failure. The actor is best known for his roles in the TV serial Mann Kee Awaaz: Pratigya and films such as Slumdog Millionaire and Bandit Queen. The actor breathed his last in the presence of his two brothers, Anurag and Kanchan at the hospital.
Actor’s co-star Tina Philip from serial Pratigya also took to her Instagram and shared an emotional note. She said, My heart feels heavy knowing that you won’t be around. When I first met you on set, I was touched by your humility, childlike innocence and zest for life.” Remembering the late actor she added, “I will never forget how I was really upset on set one time and was missing my family in the UK and you said ‘Meri bhi beti nahi hai toh aaj se main tumhara bauji hoon India mein’ we shook hands and hugged. Thank you for all your love.” Tina also shared that she has got a lot to learn from him, and she is grateful that their paths crossed.
Actress Kashmera Shah also posted on Instagram and mentioned a sad note, “So sad to see you go Anupam Shyamji. May your spirit rest in peace.”
Anupam had been suffering from Kidney ailment for a long time. Actor’s brother had also asked for financial help last year to pay his increasing medical bills. He needed dialysis on a regular basis once he got recovered. Earlier this year the actor was seen in the show Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya Season 2.
