1962: The War in the Hills, the upcoming Hindi language web war series is directed by Mahesh Manjrekar.
The web series has actor Abhay Deol essaying the lead role.
Inspired by true events, 1962: The War in the Hills, revolves around the 1962 India – China war. The series is a fictional take on the 1962 battle, where 125 Indian soldiers were up against 3000 Chinese soldiers.
Abhay Deol portrays the character of Major Suraj Singh. The teaser of the web series is already out and it evokes feelings of sheer patriotism. Also the grit and courage of the Indian soldiers deserves a salute.

1962: The War in the Hills, has been also shot in Ladakh. Further, the Hotstar Specials, web series is produced by Arre Studios.
Mahie Gill, Sumeet Vyas, Rohan Gandotra, Meiyang Chang, Liao Meng Chi, Akash Thosar, Annup Sonii, Rochelle Rao, star in the series.
1962: The War in the Hills web show will be a 10 episode series. And moreover it will air on the digital platform Disney+ Hotstar.
The show will premiere on 26th February 2021.
Actor Rohan Gandotra portrays the character of soldier Karan Yadav in the web offering.
Recently in an interview with the tabloids he talked about shooting for 1962: The War in the Hills.
He said and we quote,
“The first day that we reached Ladakh, we were all asked to stay in the hotel, and on the second day my nose started bleeding but I was told that it was normal. Then when I went out, I saw little shops selling oxygen which was new to me. When we went to the set, which was at a higher altitude than our hotel, we experienced harsh weather conditions that included sandstorms and even extremely cold winds. ”
In addition he also went on to add
“Initially, it was very challenging but our bodies eventually acclimatized to the conditions. In the end, it was teamwork along with the motivation and support from Mahesh sir that really helped us give our best even in those tough terrains.”
