BTS’ “Permission to Dance” banned in Seoul. Here’s why

BTS’s latest song Permission To Dance has become everyone’s favorite around the world. The song was released on July 9 along with the CD version of Butter. Permission to Dance recorded over 68 million views in just 24 hours of its release.  Also, the song topped the iTunes chart in over 90 countries.

Recently, the Korean Government has banned the song along with other K-Pop songs from Seoul gyms. It was felt that fast-paced tunes cause fast breathing and they make people sweat more. Consequently, the authorities have banned songs with a tempo higher than 120 beats per minute (BPM) in gyms.

The cases of coronavirus are rising in South Korea. Therefore, several restrictions have been imposed by the government. .  This decision was taken to avoid the spread of COVID-19.   Even the maximum treadmill speed has been fixed at 6 km/h.
