BTS has given the music industry many hit songs but Butter has broken all records and stunned everyone. It has been a grand total of 13 weeks since Butter debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
“Stay” by BTS’s fellow company artists The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber spends its third week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, two weeks after significantly ascending to the spot. According to MRC Data, for the week ending on August 19, its radio airplay was up 29%, drawing 51.3 million audience impressions. U.S. streams were up 3%, with 32.7 million. Downloads rose significantly, up 13%, with 14,400 downloads sold.
When it comes to Butter, it currently has fallen from position 7 to position 8. Previously, it held the second position and even before that, it formed history by holding No. 1 position for 9 weeks, becoming this year’s longest leading hit song.
“Butter” has been in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 13 weeks now. This officially ties it with “Dynamite” for the longest-charting song in the top 10 by a Korean act. This makes the single tied with another BTS single, Dynamite.
“Butter” has also become the first song of 2021 to spend 12 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales Chart. Currently, it has sold over 1.5 million pure copies.
