The ‘Pink’ star also stated that she went to filmmaker Raghava Lawrence expecting to say no but instead said yes and returned.

Actress Taapsee Pannu discusses her time working on the fantasy-comedy ‘Annabelle Sethupathi,’ ahead of its release. Powerhouse actors Taapsee Pannu and Vijay Sethupathi have teamed up for the first time on a project that promises to take fans on an interesting trip between the past and present.

“This genre has a strange connection with me because I have always been opposed to this genre but it has always attracted me and given me some really big hits,” said Taapsee, while talking about working on the highly anticipated film whose narrative is an engaging watch full of humor and emotions that makes it one of the biggest family entertainers of the year.

The actress also spoke up about her time on the fantasy-comedy film, saying, “It all began in Kanchana 2 when Lawrence Sir requested me to see him. I declined, and as a result, I got lucky. I didn’t think I could pull off the over-the-top theatrical stuff required for this genre. I went and spoke with them, and the narrative really blew me away.”

“Pink” star Radhika Apte also stated that she went to filmmaker Raghava Lawrence expecting to say no, but instead, she said yes and then came back. “After that, I made the decision not to do a scary comedy. My attitude was that I was done with this genre and wouldn’t be doing it again “she was open about it. However, it appears that Taapsee’s fate had additional fantasy comedies planned for her since she went on to star in popular south Indian films like ‘Anando Brahma’ in Telugu, which was once again a horror-comedy.

Taapsee said she didn’t charge anything before the film and merely agreed to split the profits since “I knew this movie is going to make a lot of money.” This much-anticipated bilingual film also stars Jagapathy Babu, Rajendra Prasad, Radhikaa Sarathkumar, and Suresh Menon, as well as well-known Tamil and Telugu comedians Yogi Babu, Vennela Kishore, George Maryan, and Devadarshini.

To date, this is Taapsee Pannu’s first film with Sethupathi, who has previously worked on highly acclaimed films like as “Master” and “Super Deluxe” as well as in lesser-known roles. Deepak Sundarrajan directs this film, which he also produced with G Jayaram. ‘Annabelle Sethupathi’ will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam on Disney + Hotstar starting on September 17.
