Shawn Mendes sat down for a lie detector test with Vanity Fair and was asked some tough questions, in a video released on Monday, September 20. Shawn revealed his true opinions about John Mayer, Harry Styles, Justin Bieber, and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Joe Alwyn in the interview. The comment he made on Joe Alywn is the one that is making headlines among his many true opinions. After making a remark about him, Shwan might ask Taylor for “Mercy.”
Mendes was asked if he is still in touch with Taylor Swift and if they exchange messages during his lie detector test. The singer quickly responded, stating that he consults her for music advice, and when asked on what he thinks of her boyfriend Joe Alwyn, Shawn began by describing him as a “sweet guy,” but was interrupted for his deceptive response, after which he revealed the truth.
After his lie was detected by the lie detector Shawn said,”I’m lying a little bit? Yeah, I mean, he’s kind of got a little bit of a villain look about him. He looks like a nice guy but, like, he at any movement could turn into a villain, you know?”
Shawn later added that Joe’s blue eyes made it difficult for him to trust swift’s boyfriend, he said, “He’s got really blue eyes and I struggle with eyes that blue, you know? Like I find it easier to trust brown eyes.”
Mendes also gave real opinions about Justin Bieber, revealing that the two have never discussed the singer’s 2018 Met Gala appearance with Bieber’s current wife Hailey Baldwin. Shawn also admitted to being nervous after meeting Justin for the first time, claiming that at that time her face was twitching.
