The video has received over 1.8 million views. Have you been spending too much time at home these days? So, put on your running shoes and start training for the different marathons that take place during the winter. Still, if the notion seems too daunting, here’s something to get you started. This year’s TCS New York City Marathon had a one-of-a-kind competitor. The famous marathon had a duck competing among humans in the run. Isn’t it intriguing? The footage of the duck, named Wrinkle, was shared on Instagram by a user dubbed “seducktive.”
Wrinkle the duck can be seen racing and quacking its way through the streets of New York in the footage. The one-of-a-kind runner is turning heads. Not only are on lookers applauding for the duck, but other race competitors are also visible with a puzzled expression. We couldn’t take our eyes away from the duck’s crimson jogging sneakers.
“I ran the New York marathon!” read the post. Next year, I’ll be even better! Thank you to everyone that was rooting for me!”
Since being published two days ago, the post has received over 62,000 ‘likes’ and has been watched over 1.8 million times on the social networking site.
Users were enthralled by the duck’s exploits and gave glowing reviews.
“This is wonderful!” said one user.
Another user was astounded by the duck’s calmness in the midst of a raucous human crowd and noted, “So at ease with so many people. Amazing!”
“Is there anything you can’t do?” remarked one user, who could have followed the duck’s past exploits.
This isn’t the first time we’ve noticed an animal or bird during a marathon. A half-marathon in Australia a few years ago had an intriguing competitor. A dog took part in the event and received a medal for completing the marathon in under two hours and fifteen minutes. Naturally, the canine captured the hearts of many onlookers and marathon participants.
