An elderly woman was miraculously unscathed despite being ran over twice by a vehicle who mistook her for a pile of snow. On Wednesday afternoon, the city of Zelenodolsk in the Russian Republic of Tatarstan reported the occurrence. On social media, a video of the event has gone viral.
The 77-year-old woman can be seen in the video standing behind a car in a snow-covered parking area. The parked automobile suddenly reverses and knocks her down.
The vehicle’s rear right wheel seems to run her over, raising the vehicle’s rear left wheel clear off the ground. The automobile remains in place for a few seconds before going forward and rolling away from her. When the old woman tries to get it, the car reverses and throws her back into the snow.
Finally, the driver realizes what has occurred and exits the vehicle, most likely to check on her.
The 64-year-old driver, who has not been identified, reportedly failed to see the pedestrian behind the vehicle. Doctors were startled to learn that the woman had escaped the event with no obvious injuries when she was transported to the hospital. Due to the huge amount of snow on the road, physicians believe the woman escaped with minimal injuries. The event is still under investigation.
The motorist had been driving for 22 years, but had been fined five times in the past two years for different traffic offences, according to officials.
