Kim Woo-bin has expressed his opinions on the theme of the upcoming K-drama Our Blues, as well as his involvement in it.

Our Blues chronicles the experiences of seven people on Jeju Island, and is told in an “omnibus” fashion, which means that each episode will center on one of the island’s primary personalities, with visits from the other characters on occasion.

Kim told Esquire Korea in a recent interview that his first impression of the screenplay left him interested by the show’s idea. “It felt a little unfamiliar when I read the script,” the actor added, as translated by Soompi. “There were a number of episodes in which I didn’t appear at all, some in which I appeared in one or two scenes, and others in which I was the primary character.”

However, Kim eventually admitted that the omnibus nature of the script helped him have a deeper understanding of the drama. “As an actor, I felt like I was witnessing an entirely other play when I looked at the portions of the script where I didn’t appear.” “It’s fantastic,” he remarked.

When questioned about his feelings regarding his character, ship captain Jung Joon, Kim stated, “When I first viewed the screenplay, I didn’t believe [Jung Joon] resembled me.”

“To be honest, I was wondering why they cast me as Jung Joon,” the actor admitted. “However, because I spent time as Jung Joon, he now resembles my current appearance at the age of 34.”

NCT’s Doyoung is going to act as the male lead in a new romantic K-drama series for streaming provider TVING, according to other K-drama reports. NCT member Jung Shi-ho will join the cast of To X Who Doesn’t Love Me (literal title) as the male lead, according to SM Entertainment.
