The actor Varun Dhawan describes his ten-year journey in Bollywood as a roller-coaster trip, where he has gone from being inadvertently cocky to listening to and understanding what his audience wants from him.

After making his acting debut in Student of the Year, directed by Karan Johar, in 2012, Varun went on to star in several box office successes, including Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badlapur, ABCD2, Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya, and Judwaa 2. However, the actor also had box office failures with movies like October and Kalank.

Varun stated that for the last 10 years, he has made an effort to always maintain the audience as his first priority at the trailer unveiling for his upcoming film, Bhediya. “I’ve always tried to pay attention to what the audience is saying. Not every movie I’ve worked on has been excellent. If somebody has criticism, it is due to this.

Bhediya, billed as a monster comedy, was made by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and directed by Amar Kaushik. Varun stated that although there is “always room for doing something better,” he should not “beat himself down also” as an actor.

The actor claimed that at the moment, he wants to take advantage of the success that Bhediya would bring as well as the success that his last release, Jugjugg Jeeyo, brought. He is also aware that he needs to be extra careful while appearing in VFX-intensive productions since he doesn’t want to provide the viewers with any “cringe-worthy” imagery.

“I would have definitely stated it’s good, what else can one do while I was marketing the movie. Looking back, I can see that the VFX has some cringe-worthy moments. Yet I didn’t create the VFX! As an actor, I may strive to collaborate with producers and directors who can effect that change. I thus feel more accountable today.

Varun portrays a werewolf in Niren Bhatt’s film Bhediya, which also stars Kriti as a doctor. Deepak Dobriyal and Abhishek Banerjee are also featured in the movie.

Bhediya, which is produced by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan, will debut on November 25 in 2D and 3D in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi.
